Carmen Coleman
Education Director
carmen@streetsministries.org
901-525-7380 x210

A graduate of the University of Memphis (2001) and Westwood High School (1995), Carmen was very involved as a volunteer at Streets before joining our full time staff. She previously worked at Girls, Incorporated, where she worked with several urban high schools discussing the importance of college admissions and applying for financial aid. As a Streets volunteer, Carmen ran a Bible Study, assisted with Outreach Club each week, spent countless hours hanging out with kids, and even used her vacation time to go on our annual College Tour and Summer Camp trips. She joined the Streets staff in 2005 and served as the Education Coordinator and the College Bound Coordinator before becoming the Education Director. In this position, Carmen brings excitement and devotion to her daily duties overseeing the Pathways mentoring program and spending time with students. When asked why she is at Streets, her response is that she is here "to share the love of Christ with this community, and do whatever the Lord will have for me to do whether it is conducting a bible study, listening to a student share their problems or a funny joke, or preparing a curriculum. I just enjoy serving this neighborhood in whatever capacity is available for me to serve." Carmen is a member of Bloomfield Full Gospel Baptist Church and she ejoys hanging out with her friends and family, traveling, attending her book club, and seeing LL Cool J, whom she wishes she was married to, on television or in concert.
