Erica Jones grew up in the bay area of California and San Antonio, Texas. She attended MacArthur High School in Texas where she graduated in 2004. Erica continued her education at the University of Northern Texas where she received her B.S.A. in Advertising in 2008. After graduating, Erica moved to Memphis to participate in Downline Ministries' Emerging Leaders program. During her time in the discipleship program, she spent her free time mentoring young girls in Binghamptom and working as a nanny. Erica learned about Streets during her time with DownLine and felt called to work in urban ministry because of God's command to "seek the peace and prosperity of the city in which he has carried [you] into exile" in Jeremiah 29:7. Erica became the Middle School Coordinator at Streets in August of 2009 and works with Middle School students at Vance Middle School and the students and volunteers in the Pathways mentoring program. She married her husband, Tyler, on December 6, 2008, and the two adopted a daschund, Maggie May. Erica enjoys reading, outdoor activities like camping, cycling, and walking her dog.
